Removal of silicates from gibbsite-bauxite ore by using cationic reverse flotation

This paper is one of a study that implements reverse flotation methods as an alternative beneficiation on bauxite processing. aimed at decrease silica content and increase alumina in so its qualified feed Bayer Process. The experiments were carried out 1375 mL cell tank. Dodecylamine (DDA) AERO 3000C used the collector, starch depressant, Dowfroth 1012 frother. overall conducted solid to solution 25% w/w. Alumina results analyzed by XRF. XRF products show increasing decreasing content. optimum pH range using DDA collectors can be achieved 4 – 10. From results, performance better than because get higher Al2O3 content, 61.4%. collector dosage 10 gives good result 62% SiO2 29.4% with 50.44% recovery obtained 500 g/ton. ontent which conditions without addition depressant 66.8% while 23.5%. While for size fraction variation, it shows separation finer particle result. best condition this was 400 g/ton dosage, -325 mesh 79.1% 8.89%.
